Knee Repair with Lateral Release or Microfracture
Knee Repair with Lateral Release or Microfracture is available through Mishe Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Knee repair with lateral release or microfracture is a surgical approach used to treat various knee conditions. A lateral release is performed to correct patellar maltracking or lateral patellar compression syndrome, where the outer structures of the knee are released to allow the patella (kneecap) to move more freely and align properly. Microfracture is a technique used to repair cartilage damage; it involves creating small holes in the bone near the damaged cartilage to stimulate the growth of new cartilage from bone marrow cells. Both procedures aim to relieve pain and improve knee function, but they address different issues. These procedures can be performed arthroscopically, involving small incisions and specialized instruments, which generally result in less pain and quicker recovery compared to open surgery.
