Distal Clavicle Excision
Distal Clavicle Excision is available through Mishe Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Distal clavicle excision is a surgical procedure performed to alleviate pain and discomfort caused by conditions such as acromioclavicular (AC) joint arthritis or impingement syndrome. The distal end of the clavicle (collarbone) is removed to reduce pressure on surrounding tissues and improve shoulder mobility. This procedure is often considered when conservative treatments like rest, physical therapy, or medication have failed to provide relief. During the surgery, the surgeon makes a small incision over the AC joint and carefully removes the distal portion of the clavicle, sometimes using arthroscopic techniques for minimal invasiveness. Following the procedure, patients typically undergo a period of rehabilitation to regain strength and mobility in the shoulder joint.
