Tympanostomy with Tube Insertion
Tympanostomy with Tube Insertion is available through Mishe Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Tympanostomy with tube insertion, also known as ear tube surgery, is a procedure performed to treat chronic ear infections and persistent fluid accumulation in the middle ear. During the surgery, a small incision (myringotomy) is made in the eardrum to drain fluid and relieve pressure. A tiny tube (tympanostomy tube) is then inserted into the eardrum opening to allow continuous ventilation and prevent future fluid build-up. This helps to reduce the frequency of ear infections, improve hearing, and alleviate associated symptoms such as pain and discomfort. The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia, especially in children, and is quick, with patients usually able to go home the same day.
