BMT & Nasal Endoscopy
BMT & Nasal Endoscopy is available through Mishe Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Bilateral Myringotomy with Tubes (BMT) combined with Nasal Endoscopy is a surgical procedure primarily performed to treat chronic ear infections and fluid accumulation in the middle ear while simultaneously examining the nasal passages and sinus openings for any underlying issues. During the BMT portion, small incisions are made in the eardrums to drain fluid, and tiny tubes are inserted to keep the middle ear ventilated and prevent fluid build-up. Nasal endoscopy involves using a thin, flexible tube equipped with a light and camera (endoscope) to visually inspect the nasal passages and sinuses. This combined approach allows for comprehensive management of ear and nasal issues, which can be especially beneficial for patients with concurrent nasal or sinus problems contributing to their ear conditions.
