Sinus Surgery – Simple
Sinus Surgery – Simple is available through Mishe Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Simple sinus surgery, also known as functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed to treat chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, or other sinus-related conditions that do not respond to conservative treatments such as medications or nasal sprays. During the procedure, an endoscope—a thin, flexible tube with a camera—is inserted through the nostrils to provide visualization of the sinus passages. The surgeon uses specialized instruments to remove diseased tissue, open blocked sinus passages, and improve drainage. This helps alleviate symptoms such as nasal congestion, facial pain or pressure, headaches, and difficulty breathing through the nose. Simple sinus surgery is typically performed on an outpatient basis under general or local anesthesia, and most patients can return home the same day. Recovery time is usually relatively quick, with minimal discomfort, and patients can often resume normal activities within a few days to a week. Post-operative care may include nasal irrigation, saline sprays, and medications to reduce swelling and prevent infection.
