Bunionectomy (Chevron)
Bunionectomy (Chevron) is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
A Chevron bunionectomy is a surgical procedure commonly used to correct a bunion deformity at the base of the big toe joint. This minimally invasive procedure involves making an incision near the big toe joint and removing a small wedge-shaped piece of bone to realign the joint. The surgeon then repositions the bones and stabilizes them with screws or pins to maintain proper alignment. Chevron bunionectomy is often preferred for mild to moderate bunions, as it preserves more of the bone and soft tissues around the joint, resulting in less post-operative pain and a faster recovery compared to traditional open surgery. Following the procedure, patients may be advised to wear a surgical boot or cast for a few weeks to protect the foot and allow for proper healing. Physical therapy and gradual return to weight-bearing activities are typically recommended to restore strength, flexibility, and function to the foot.
