Calcaneal Osteotomy (Heel Spur Removal)
Calcaneal Osteotomy (Heel Spur Removal) is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Calcaneal osteotomy, also known as heel spur removal, is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting structural abnormalities in the heel bone (calcaneus) and alleviating pain associated with conditions such as plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. During the surgery, the surgeon makes an incision on the side or bottom of the heel to access the calcaneus. Depending on the specific condition being addressed, the surgeon may remove excess bone or tissue, release tight ligaments or tendons, or reposition the bone through cutting and realignment (osteotomy). Heel spurs, which are bony protrusions that develop on the underside of the heel bone, may also be removed to relieve pressure on the surrounding tissues. The goal of calcaneal osteotomy is to improve foot alignment, reduce pain, and restore function to the affected heel. Post-operative care typically involves wearing a surgical boot or cast for several weeks to protect the foot and promote healing, followed by physical therapy to regain strength, flexibility, and function.
