Tarsal Tunnel Release
Tarsal Tunnel Release is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Tarsal tunnel release is a surgical procedure aimed at relieving compression of the tibial nerve as it passes through the tarsal tunnel—a narrow space on the inside of the ankle. This condition, known as tarsal tunnel syndrome, can cause pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness in the foot and ankle. During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision along the inside of the ankle and carefully releases any structures that may be compressing the tibial nerve, such as ligaments or tendons. This helps to alleviate pressure on the nerve and improve symptoms. Tarsal tunnel release can be performed using traditional open surgery or minimally invasive techniques such as endoscopic or percutaneous procedures. The goal of the surgery is to relieve pain, numbness, and other symptoms associated with tarsal tunnel syndrome, and improve mobility and function in the affected foot. Post-operative care may involve wearing splints or boots to support the ankle during the healing process and undergoing physical therapy to promote recovery and prevent recurrence of symptoms.
