UPP (Uvulopalatoplasty)
UPP (Uvulopalatoplasty) is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Uvulopalatoplasty (UPP) is a surgical procedure performed to address snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by reducing the size of the soft palate and uvula. During the procedure, which is typically performed under general anesthesia, the surgeon removes excess tissue from the uvula and soft palate or reshapes them using various techniques, such as laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty (LAUP) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA). This helps to widen the airway at the back of the throat and reduce the likelihood of airway obstruction during sleep. UPP is often recommended for individuals who have not responded to conservative treatments such as lifestyle changes, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, or oral appliances. Recovery from UPP involves several days of rest, pain management, and monitoring for any signs of infection or complications. Most individuals can return to normal activities within a few days to weeks after surgery, although full recovery may take several weeks to months.
