Ankle Arthroscopy

Ankle Arthroscopy is available through Mishe Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.

Ankle arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat various conditions affecting the ankle joint, such as arthritis, ligament tears, cartilage damage, or impingement syndrome. During ankle arthroscopy, a small camera called an arthroscope is inserted through small incisions around the ankle joint. The arthroscope allows the surgeon to visualize the structures inside the joint, including the bones, ligaments, cartilage, and synovium (joint lining), on a monitor in real-time. This enables the surgeon to identify any abnormalities or injuries and perform necessary interventions, such as debridement (removal of damaged tissue), ligament repair or reconstruction, cartilage repair, or removal of bone spurs. Ankle arthroscopy is typically performed under local or general anesthesia on an outpatient basis, resulting in smaller incisions, less post-operative pain, faster recovery, and lower risk of complications compared to traditional open surgery. It is often used as a minimally invasive approach to diagnose and treat ankle problems, allowing patients to return to their normal activities more quickly.
