An EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) with colonoscopy is a combined medical procedure used to examine both the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. During the EGD portion, the upper digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum, is examined using a flexible tube with a camera and light at its tip (endoscope). Following this, a colonoscopy is performed to examine the colon (large intestine) and sometimes the terminal ileum.
