Popliteal Synovial Cyst Excision (Baker's Cyst)
Popliteal Synovial Cyst Excision (Baker's Cyst) is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Popliteal synovial cyst excision, commonly known as Baker's cyst excision, is a surgical procedure aimed at removing a fluid-filled sac (cyst) that develops in the popliteal fossa, the hollow at the back of the knee. This cyst, known as a Baker's cyst, is often the result of excess synovial fluid accumulation from the knee joint, typically due to conditions like arthritis or knee injuries. When the cyst becomes large or causes discomfort, it may necessitate surgical intervention. During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision in the back of the knee, locates the cyst, and carefully excises it along with any associated synovial tissue. This helps alleviate symptoms and prevents the recurrence of the cyst.
