Prepatellar Bursa Excision
Prepatellar Bursa Excision is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Prepatellar bursa excision is a surgical procedure aimed at removing the prepatellar bursa, a small fluid-filled sac located between the skin and the patella (kneecap) at the front of the knee. This bursa serves to reduce friction between the patella and the overlying skin during knee movement. However, it can become inflamed or irritated due to repetitive kneeling, trauma, or infection, leading to a condition known as prepatellar bursitis. When conservative treatments fail to alleviate symptoms such as swelling, pain, and limited mobility, surgical excision of the bursa may be recommended. During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision over the prepatellar bursa, carefully removes it, and closes the incision, aiming to relieve symptoms and restore normal knee function.
