Knee Arthrotomy with Patellectomy
Knee Arthrotomy with Patellectomy is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Knee arthrotomy with patellectomy is a surgical procedure involving the open exploration of the knee joint (arthrotomy) and the removal of the patella (kneecap). This procedure is typically performed to address severe cases of patellar fractures, chronic patellar dislocations, or irreparable damage to the patella due to trauma or disease. During the surgery, an incision is made in the front of the knee to access the joint, and the patella is carefully excised. After removal, the surrounding soft tissues and ligaments are restructured to maintain stability and function of the knee joint. Patellectomy is considered a salvage procedure and is usually reserved for cases where all other treatment options have been exhausted.
