Total Hip Arthroplasty

Total Hip Arthroplasty is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.

Total hip arthroplasty, also known as hip replacement surgery, is a procedure performed to replace a damaged or worn-out hip joint with an artificial implant, or prosthesis, to relieve pain and improve mobility. It is typically recommended for individuals with severe arthritis, hip fractures, or other conditions that cause significant pain, stiffness, and loss of function in the hip joint. During the procedure, the damaged parts of the hip joint, including the femoral head (ball) and the acetabulum (socket), are removed and replaced with metal, plastic, or ceramic components that mimic the natural structure and function of the hip joint. The artificial components are secured in place with cement or by using materials that allow for bone growth to integrate with the implant over time. Total hip replacement surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia and may require a hospital stay of several days for initial recovery and rehabilitation. Following surgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation exercises are often recommended to help restore strength, flexibility, and function to the hip joint. Total hip replacement can provide significant pain relief and improve quality of life for many individuals, allowing them to return to their normal activities with reduced pain and increased mobility.
