Wrist Extensor Tendon Sheath Incision (De Quervains)
Wrist Extensor Tendon Sheath Incision (De Quervains) is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Wrist extensor tendon sheath incision, commonly known as De Quervain's release, is a surgical procedure performed to relieve pain and inflammation caused by a condition known as De Quervain's tenosynovitis. This condition occurs when the tendons that control thumb movement become inflamed as they pass through the sheath at the base of the thumb, resulting in pain, swelling, and difficulty moving the thumb and wrist. During the procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision at the base of the thumb and releases the constricting tendon sheath, allowing the tendons to move more freely without causing irritation or inflammation. This helps alleviate pain and restore normal function to the thumb and wrist. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia, and recovery involves a period of immobilization and rehabilitation to allow the incision to heal and regain strength and mobility in the thumb and wrist.
