EGD with Biopsy and Colonoscopy with Biopsy

EGD with Biopsy and Colonoscopy with Biopsy is available through Mark Cuban Companies Health Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.

EGD with biopsy and colonoscopy with biopsy are two separate endoscopic procedures used to diagnose and evaluate conditions of the upper gastrointestinal tract (EGD) and the colon (colonoscopy). During an EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy), a flexible tube with a camera at its tip is inserted through the mouth and into the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Biopsies, or small tissue samples, may be taken from the lining of the esophagus, stomach, or small intestine for further examination under a microscope. Colonoscopy involves the insertion of a similar flexible tube through the rectum and into the colon. Biopsies may be taken from abnormal areas or polyps found in the colon during the procedure. These biopsies help in diagnosing conditions such as inflammation, infection, ulcers, polyps, or cancer in the digestive tract. Both procedures are typically performed under sedation, and patients may experience minimal discomfort during and after the procedures.
