Colposcopy

Colposcopy is available through SUNY Downstate's Transparent Access Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.

Colposcopy is a medical procedure used to examine the cervix, vulva, and vaginal walls for signs of abnormalities, such as cervical dysplasia, genital warts, or cervical cancer. It involves the use of a colposcope, which is a specialized magnifying instrument with a light source. During colposcopy, a healthcare provider inserts the colposcope into the vagina to visually inspect the tissues of the cervix, vulva, and vagina in detail. If abnormal areas are detected, further diagnostic tests, such as cervical biopsies, may be performed to assess the extent of the condition.| Explore Comprehensive Gynecology Services with Mishe's Expert Providers.
